Hobbies
I'm crazy about musical theatre, so it's very important for me to engage. I've been studying vocal music (Stephen Sondheim, Eric Whitacre and Jason Robert Brown are my favorite composers) for about eight years and theatre for seven. My English pursuits are a part of my path to writing and law. Having been a member of FAMU's mock trial team for two cycles, I have a great time with both the theatrical aspects of trying a case and the responsibility of representing someone in a courtroom, but my ultimate legal ambition is public service; someplace high enough in Congress that I have the chance to make a difference, but low enough that I can work on issues with which I have a vested interest. One of the most important aspects of the public sector in my opinion is education. I’ve found from working with students seven to twelve as well as English students in FAMU's Writing Resource Center how easily gaps can imbed themselves in primary education and seen from helping my peers at school how much of a hindrance those primary gaps can be further along in a person’s pursuit of higher learning. It is my hope that I can fill in some of those gaps before they become too wide. My availability varies somewhat because of the schedule at the theatre where I'm working, so we will need to do some coordinating with schedules. I usually like to meet with the tudent/parent before we start tutoring to determine if we will be a good fit.
