Experience
I have a Masters in Education (Middle Grades) from Liberty University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. I am a former Middle Grades Math Teacher and have tutored Math for over 13 years. In school, I was successful in Algebra, Geometry, Business Statistics and Finite Math. I enjoy working on math problems, and enjoy seeing the excitement when students finally get it! My tutoring style- I help students with homework or concepts they are struggling with. I develop a goal plan which is based upon an initial assessment, parent feedback and what the students desire to achieve during the tutoring sessions. Then we work each day to help the student meet their goals. I like to encourage my students to succeed academically and in all life endeavors. My belief is: Encouragement builds the self-esteem. If encouraged we can be fueled to accomplish anything we desire. You will find that I am patient, kind, and consistent. Oh, and did I tell you I can help with reading/phonics too?! :) I look forward to working with you and your child to help with reaching your goals.
